Mood Project

I just got done working on an environment that conveys a certain mood through the use of lighting. I had worked on a hangar for a German WWII plane a while ago but never really got finished refining the textures or lights. I had to do a lot of work making sure that the hangar had a certain sense of usability while appearing old. Opacity maps on planes were heavily used for the decals on the floors and windows. This project helped me to understand the motivation of each light source and how to represent realistic lighting by having separate lights simulate the bounce light and rim lighting. I felt that by doing it this way, opposed to Global Illumination, it forces more critical thinking in the placement of each light and how it really adds to the scene...not just having to add a few lights and push a button. I should be adding a video capture of the scene to my demo reel after touching it up a little.
